蒙德耸：纪念六四的意义

1989年六四事件尚未成为历史。杀人政府依然掌权，继续压迫人民。受害者的名誉仍然污损，不得安息。自由斗士们仍然身陷囹圄或流亡海外。正义的原则甚至没有得到起码的伸张。六四不是过去完成时，而是现在进行时。

你必须相信民主是大势所趋，你必须相信宪法人权基于人性的基本诉求，你必须相信六四所提出的政治诉求是人类和中华民族的必然归宿。

这一代人或许没有经历过六四，但他们将经历新的事件，并很快将自身的命运与历史事件联系起来。六四将如同一座“纪念碑”，产生新的历史意义，并被载入永恒的历史丰碑。

Meng Desong: The significance of commemorating June 4

The June 4th Incident in 1989 has not become history. The murderous government is still in power and continues to oppress the people. The reputation of the victims is still tarnished and they cannot rest in peace. Freedom fighters are still in prison or exiled abroad. The principle of justice has not been even minimally upheld. June 4th is not the past perfect tense, but the present progressive tense.

You must believe that democracy is the general trend, you must believe that constitutional human rights are based on the basic desire of human nature, and you must believe that the political demands required by June 4th in 1989 are the inevitable destination of mankind and the Chinese nation.

The current generation may not have experienced June 4th, but they will experience new events and will soon connect their own destiny with historical events. June 4th will be like a "monument", producing fresh historical significance and being recorded in the eternal historical monument.
