WHAT: Chinese-Americans condemn China's efforts in using its "Thousand Talents" reward program in encouraging and supporting individuals as well as using China's government employees in stealing US government, industrial, trade, and intellectual properties. We will be at the FBI office at 11000 Wilshire Blvd. to express our support for the FBI's efforts in bringing those violators to justice.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* September, 2018: Ji Chaoqun, a Chinese national who came to the US as a student at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago has been charged with collecting background information on eight Chinese-Americans in the technology and aerospace industry and providing them to China's Ministry of State Security.
* October, 2018: Ten Chinese intelligence officers and hackers were charged with stealig airline engine technology from U.S. companies targeting a turbofan engine developed between a US and French companies located in Suzhou. China and in Arizona, Massachuettes and Oregon.
* October 2018: Yanjun Xu, a senior officer with China's Ministry of State Security, was brought to the US from Belgium and indicted for stealing trade secrets from US leading aviation firms.
* December 2018: Two Chinese citizens, Zhu Hua and Zhang Jianguo, were indicted for hacking into US Navy, NASA and the Energy Department as well as numerous sectors to steal intellectual property and confidential businese and technological data. More than 100,000 navy personnel's names, social security numbers and other personal information were compromised.
* December 2018: Chinese-American physicist Zhang Shoucheng died in a apparent suicide by jumping off a building at Stanford University. Zhang was part of the "Thousand Talents" program and founded the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Danhua Capital that led to China's "Made in China 2015" technology dominance program.
* February 2019: Chinese-American You Xiaorong has been accused of stealing trade secret from Coca-Cola in the use of BPA-free technology worth $120 million. You Xiaorong was promised a job and to win China's highest award for research and innovation, the "Thousand Talents" award.
CALL ON CHINESE STUDENTS, CHINESE NATIONALS RESIDING IN THE US AND CHINESE-AMERICANS:
* For Chinese-Americans: you have enjoyed the freedom of being an American citizen, do not allow China to tempt you with fame or glory or money.
* For Chinese who are allowed to stay in the US - you have a great opportunity to grow and succeed here in the US. Do not allow yourself to be tempted else, just return to China as your own country.
* For Chinese students coming to the US to study, do not create suspicion to yourself and to your fellow students - do not cooperate with the government of China in recruiting or stealing US intellectual properties. It will create a backlash for future students from China.
