I am making a work report on behalf of the China Democracy Party National Committee. The China Democracy Party National Committee has been adhering to a belief since its establishment: the opportunities and successes of China's democratic transformation are created by actions. Therefore, the work assumptions and summaries of China Democracy Party all focus on how to do the work well at the operational level. According to the tradition of the China Democracy Party National Committee, my report is divided into three parts: the work that has been done, the existing problems, and the suggestions for measures that can be improved in the future.
One, the basic situation of the past seven years
On December 13 and 14, 2014, the National Committee of China Democracy Party held the second special congress to elect a new leadership team. At that time, the China Democracy Party National Committee was going through some difficult problems that all pro-democracy organizations and groups have experienced. We got out of the predicament and continued to be at the forefront of creating a democratic movement in China.
The cause of China Democracy Party continues to advance and develop. This is the result of the joint efforts of all colleagues involved in the cause of the China Democracy Party National Committee. On behalf of the leadership team of the China Democracy Party National Committee, I would like to express my gratitude to you all. At the same time, we also thank our colleagues who left when we had differences. Their gentleman's way of handling differences is an important condition for the survival and development of our business; their opinions when they leave are an important driving force for us to improve our work. We promised at the "Second National Congress" that in the future, we will become bigger and stronger and do a good job in the cause we jointly created to welcome their return!
Over the past seven years, we have held high the banner of China Democracy Party, opened up and held our positions, and provided activity platforms and support for those who promote China's progress.
Since the establishment of the China Democracy Party National Committee, we have formed a consensus not to engage in Leninist vanguard parties; although such vanguard organizations are indispensable in the revolution to overthrow totalitarian tyranny, if such organizations become the main form of political activities , not only will exclude the majority from the democratic movement, but also easily become a force for party fattening or new autocracy. We choose the popular political party in the liberal and democratic world as the basic model, and attract all Chinese who are willing to participate in the cause of democracy to participate. Do not discriminate against fellow citizens on the basis of wealth and social status, nor reject anyone on the basis of controversial stains on knowledge, character, and personal history. We attribute the widespread political uncivilization of the Chinese people to the negative consequences of the CCP's authoritarian and tyranny environment. Through the various undertakings of the China Democracy Party, we allow party members to gradually change themselves in their actions to promote the cause of democracy in China. As a mass party, we strive to live up to two metrics: action and education.
1. Action: The main political function of political parties is not to research, but to mobilize and organize popular actions; to create history with actions. ,
During the Second National Committee, we continued to hold Operation Jasmine every Saturday night in Times Square, New York, the crossroads of the world. Action Jasmine is a weekly activity started on February 19, 2011 by the National Committee of China Democracy Party in support of the civil movement in mainland China. During the second National Committee, we held more than 370 events. Rain or shine. Even with hurricanes, blizzards and outbreaks, we are still uninterrupted. We gradually improve the way of activities. At the event, we complained about the crimes committed by the tyranny of the Communist Party every week in the past week, and paid tribute to the Chinese people who resisted violence in hardships. Many people question the meaning of activity in these kinds of liberal democracies, but the heroes who struggled in the dark were encouraged when they heard us cry out for them in Times Square. Many of them wrote to us expressing their gratitude.
During the Second National Committee, we expanded Operation Jasmine to Canada's Toronto City Hall, the White House in Washington, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
We are also holding more than 100 various protests at Chinese embassies and consulates in various places.
During the second session of the National Committee, our annual "June 4th" and National Remembrance Days are held at the United Nations, Times Square and the Chinese Consulate in New York, the White House in Washington, the Chinese Embassy and Capitol Hill, the Sculpture Park in Los Angeles, Hollywood Held and participated in commemorative activities with the Chinese Consulate, the Chinese Consulate and City Hall in Toronto, and the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. Even though the epidemic is two years old, we have not missed an event!
We also support the people of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet in their struggle against violence. We participated in all of the local Hong Kong compatriots' 2014 Umbrella Solidarity and 2019 Anti-Extradition Campaigns in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Toronto. On July 11, 2019, when welcoming the President of the Republic of China to transit through New York, we were attacked by CCP forces, and several CDP members were beaten and hospitalized. But our basic team did not retreat in the face of the attack.
Every time a Chinese state-level leader steps into the United States, we organize various protests. In September 2015 in Seattle, Washington and New York, in March 2016 in Washington and New York, and in 2017 in Florida, China Democrats vowed to never let the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party visit the United States as if they were no one! We did it!
Through our efforts, the China Democracy Party has become the most active force in the street activities promoting the mainland's democracy movement among the global Chinese!
2. Education: Another political function of modern political parties is education. Party members are educated on political knowledge and programs through various means. Especially for ordinary party members from China, who have been brainwashed and educated under the CCP's autocratic rule for a long time, they need to have a bone-washing update in order to gain a new political life. The National Committee of China Democracy Party adopts various forms to educate party members about democracy.
The main purpose of various street activities of China Democracy Party is to educate party members. Party members achieve a complete emotional and spiritual cut from the CCP in their actions. During the reading of the weekly CCP atrocities, party members learned more about the nature of the CCP.
Party class: China Democracy Party offers party class every week, combining with empirical hot topics, to popularize political knowledge and democratic ideas to party members, and to improve the political thinking ability of party members in analyzing various conflicting opinions. The party class of China Democracy Party did not stop during the epidemic, and it was conducted online by video.
In the party class of China Democracy Party, Dr. Wang Cheng, chairman of the Democratic Education Committee of China Democracy Party, gave a series of lectures on "Current Political Topics and Knowledge of Western Civilization" every weekend, which were well received by party members. Dr. Wang Cheng explained major events in the history of Western civilization and provided cultural background knowledge for party members to understand the concept of democracy and freedom. For this series of lectures, Dr. Wang Cheng was publicly selected by Boxun website as one of the most outstanding 100 public intellectuals in China for three consecutive years. Just before Dr. Wang Cheng passed away, he went through the retirement formalities and planned to concentrate on his work for 20 years, doing a good job in the China Democracy Party's lectures. Today, we feel that the loss of Dr. Cheng Wang is an irreparable loss.
In order to popularize the knowledge of democracy and spread the information of the Democrats, we have launched the China Democracy Party website. As our actions effectively challenge the CCP's overseas causes and influence domestic politics, the CCP has twice destroyed our website during the Jasmine Revolution and during Xi Jinping's 2015 state visit to the United States. But we all quickly restored the site. We do this by putting dozens of party members in various column positions and aggregating information on every aspect of the CCP's corruption and tyranny into our website. Today, our website has forty thousand pieces of information. During the process of building the website and reporting the activities of the China Democracy Party, the thoughts and mentality of party members have changed.
Actions create history and a new life. We set up a number of programs to encourage party members to take up various positions and to devote their time and energy to participate. When promoting the democratic movement, he also transforms his own psychological world.
3. The National Committee of China Democracy Party is well aware that China's progressive cause requires the participation of all Chinese citizens, and the banner of China Democracy Party needs to be carried by many Democrats who agree with the ideas of the Democratic Party in various places. Therefore, we did not work for the survival of an organization from the beginning, but to build a platform for the activities of all the forces that promote China's progress and all the Democrats.
Although we are building the China Democracy Party National Committee, all our activities are open to other China Democracy Party organizations and pro-democracy organizations, and all activities are held in the name of China Democracy Party. Any organization can propose to hold an event jointly. Even though we provide the venue, technical support, logistical support, and people involved, we put ourselves in the last place to speak.
We respond to the requirements of all organizations and teams, and provide human and material resources. For example, we have participated in the pro-democracy activities of various organizations in the Washington area for seven consecutive years and several times a year, without displaying our own logo.
We held a series of commemorative activities and rallies to commemorate China Democracy Party, Charter 08, and protest the CCP's persecution of famous pro-democracy activists.
When those who promoted China's progress at home were persecuted to death, we were the only organization in the world to hold a special memorial event for them.
We also promote the building of pro-democracy communities. Every year, it independently organizes and co-organizes large-scale evening parties or dinner parties with the Memorial Hu Yaobang Zhao Ziyang Foundation and other organizations.
In the past seven years, we have hosted Hong Kong's pro-democracy leaders such as Huang Zhifeng, Li Zhuoren, and He Junren, and provided a communication platform for pro-democracy leaders such as Wang Dan.
We set up the Liu Xiaobo Conscience Award, the Cao Shunli Courage Award and the Yang Tianshui Memorial Award to reward those domestic heroes who resisted tyranny, especially grassroots people. We also support the awarding of the Yu Zhijian Memorial Award.
We hold talks with politicians in the local mainstream community to learn how democracy works.
4. The National Committee of China Democracy Party summarizes the criticism of the democracy movement from all walks of life, and strictly implements the new culture in its activities and actions
We adhere to the principle of volunteer work, and the participation of all party members is a voluntary contribution.
We advocate the spirit of unity and cooperation
We require party members and cadres to win without arguing for merit and fail without blaming them.
We insist on treating all party members equally and fairly
Through the actions of the past seven years, the National Committee of the China Democracy Party has been able to declare that we are the vanguard of the Chinese democratic movement, defending the position of action and promoting a healthy political culture for the Chinese democratic movement and the China Democracy Party.
2. Problems at work
Although we believe that the National Committee of the China Democracy Party is the vanguard of the Chinese democratic movement, we are still far from our historical expectations and our own expectations. We must see our own problems against historical expectations and self-expectations, because only by solving problems can we progress and our careers develop. Seven years ago, when our 2nd China Democracy Party National Committee leadership team set off, we motivated ourselves to be a firing squad to end the CCP's tyranny. Although, the demise of the CCP's tyranny is not something that one party or a political force can accomplish in the short term. But a lot of the work that we should have done and could have done, some didn't do well, and some haven't started yet.
We once promised to fight the CCP and attack the CCP in all places where the CCP’s tyranny and crimes are committed. While we took to the streets to protest every crime we knew of the CCP, we did not speak out politically. The China Democracy Party National Committee has a team with complete disciplines and high professional quality in the democracy movement. It should be able to speak out in a timely manner on topics of public concern, and propose Democratic Party proposals on issues of national construction. But our work in this area is largely missing.
Our cause requires modern technology to disseminate information and shape our image. There are many professionals in our party members, but we have not made good use of them so far. Many friends suggested we form social media workgroups. They believe that the China Democracy Party has the largest human resources for the democracy movement and should form a team to launch an offensive on platforms such as Twitter. At present, network technology and audio-visual products have become the communication tools for all government organizations, companies and social groups in the world. The Chinese democracy movement, including the China Democracy Party teams, is far behind the world trend.
The Chinese democracy movement is a cause of creating security and peace for mankind, and it deserves the support of the free and democratic world. However, our status and influence in mainstream society is very marginal today. Members of the leadership team of the China Democracy Party National Committee have connections with mainstream social and political circles, media and research institutions, but they have not been fully utilized. We also do not have regular interactions with the Chinese community. We proposed early on to carry out community services for new immigrants and establish connections with the local Chinese community. But work in this area has been delayed. We have long proposed to develop Chinese interactions with entrepreneurs, international students and NGOs, but this aspect has also been absent.
Strengthening the history, tradition and cultural construction of the China Democracy Party is a work that we have established for a long time. We have set up the topics of an online party history museum, a list of heroes and a list of villains, but the progress has been slow.
As the Democratic Party in mainland China, we should develop strength in the mainland. enter the mainland. But we've been so held back by the fear of taking on the persecution of Democrats at home that we've only been able to do almost all of our work overseas.
3. Our suggestion to the third leadership team of the China Democracy Party National Committee
Ladies and gentlemen, time flies, seven years have passed. Now, we hand over the stick of the China Democracy Party leadership team to the next leadership team. As the last shift, we would like to make some work suggestions to the next leadership team based on our persistent experience and lessons from mistakes.
It is an honor to be the leader of the China Democracy Party National Committee, but like other great causes in history, this honor only belongs to those who have the courage to develop and work hard. I hope you will carry forward the tradition of China Democracy Party, continue to focus on action, and create various causes.
I hope you will do a good job of making political speeches, so that the world can hear the voice of the China Democracy Party and see that the China Democracy Party is another political choice that is different from the CCP's corrupt tyranny.
Hope you will build a dissemination network based on modern web technology and audiovisual technology from the very beginning.
I hope you will start building interactive relationships with mainstream society, overseas Chinese communities and various Chinese groups.
I hope you will act decisively, seize the historical opportunity, enter the mainland, and let the China Democracy Party in exile dilute the mainland.
I hope you will do a good job in collecting and interpreting the tradition, history, culture and various theories of the China Democracy Party.
