Attorney Yang Wei, who is currently on a business trip in Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, was taken into criminal detention by the police under the branch of the Liangshan Prefecture Public Security Bureau of Sichuan Province.  It is suspected that his client reported local officials on the Internet, which caused lawyer Yang Wei to be provoked.

Operation Jasmine was originally an event held by the National Committee of the China Democracy Party to support the Jasmine Revolution of Chinese citizens.  In December 2010, a democratic revolution broke out in Tunisia, a North African Arab country, overthrowing Ali ’s corrupt dictatorship.  Because the national flower of Tunisia is jasmine, this revolution is called the jasmine revolution.  The victory of the Tunisian people inspired the enthusiasm of the democratic revolution of the people of other countries.  This revolution quickly spread to the entire Arab world.  In February 2011, when the Egyptian people overthrew the 40-year-old Mubarak dictatorship, Chinese citizens were greatly encouraged.  They called for a jasmine revolution in China.  Through discussion, netizens met. Since February 20, 2011, every Sunday, they will take a smile walk in the downtown of the main city of China to express their desire for democracy.  Since the first Jasmine operation in the mainland, the National Committee of the China Democracy Party has held a simultaneous rally in solidarity with the Chinese people in the United States in Times Square.  Due to the time difference, the activities of the Democratic Party ’s National Committee started at 9 pm local time on Saturday.  Since the beginning of February 19, 2011, the Jasmine operation of the Democratic Party Committee has been unstoppable and uninterrupted.  Even if New York-New Jersey-Connecticut declared a state of emergency, and New York City was shut down due to blizzards, the China Democracy Party still insisted on activities.
